This is almost exactly what I do too. Once a month update. I looked for a good app or service about a year ago and didn’t find anything. So I started just using excel. I spent a few hours with air table and whatever the drag and drop front end was and I ended up going back to excel. I’m sure if you spent some time with it you could make something that works better than excel but I’m happy with it for now. If you get something made let me know I’m interested to check it out.
I have the same use case, and google sheet does the job. Have 1 sheet called fund snapshot. Basically entry of at any day how much your A bank, B bank, C Credit card debt is left with. Every time you open the sheet, open all the individual bank apps, credit cards and record the balance. This way you will have the latest info about your Net Worth. If you want to identify expenses done in the last month, do some math between the last and second last fund snapshot and now you have an idea about it as well. V easy to maintain. And even if you miss 1 month in b/w its still fine, cause you always updating snapshot of latest data available
I built a web app based on my spreadsheet at https://jch.app Focusing on investments because my spending doesn’t change much. I still export spending transactions monthly to keep a history when I work on that part later. Maybe Finance was an interesting open source self hosted option, but they shut down. I had a native iOS app, but pulled it bc of lack of interest. Web push notifications on a progressive web app has been working well for me.
