A platform similar to Tinder, except for people to trade things.

From r/SomebodyMakeThis · originally by u/Intelligent-Bottle22 · July 26, 2025

I am thinking of making a website where people can post an item that they want to trade. They input the items title, pics, description, and categories. Then they input the categories they want to trade it for. They see the items that match with theirs, and they can like, or reject their matches. If two items like each other, then a chat is formed, and they can talk about trading.

We built this at a hackathon nearly ten years ago in a couple of days. Fun times. In practice it turned out to be too nieche, and if you can't attract a certain number users it becomes unmonetizable. Our concept was slightly different, rather than swiping you would just get a distance sorted list of items, and there was a social option where you could try to make friends with someone by offering to drink a cup of coffee with them after swapping the item.
